Suicide Prevention Training session

We believe Suicide Prevention start with building strong communities and everyone has a part to play. Anybody can learn to  have a life saving conversation with someone in crisis that can stop them thinking suicide is an option.

Our facilitator Rebecca Jackson has been running the sessions for over 2 years and has trained over 500 people across Bury inc. health professionals, schools and colleges, voluntary workers and family members . She is ASSIST trained and sits on Bury’s Suicide Prevention panel. She also runs our peer support group for families bereaved by suicide

Our 3 hour workshop will teach you how to:

·       Spot the signs of someone struggling

·       Open up a conversation around suicide

·       Understand effective signposting

·       Build a Safety Plan

We will also give you lots of local and national information of available resources.

Our course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 but we do advise not to sign up if you are currently in mental health crisis or recently bereaved by suicide.

As we currently receive no funding for these courses we do charge a small admin fee of £30 to cover our costs and allow us to continue the work we do.

Tea and coffee is provided

All sessions are held at:
